Apart from enhancing the taste and flavor of food, spices also improve digestive health. Regular and proper use of spices in food changes the quality of food. For example, adding ginger to a heavy meal or take ginger candy or ginger infusion after a heavy meal helps to digest the food easily preventing heaviness and discomfort. Also when used with suitable vehicles, it has different health benefits. Taking ginger with rock salt improves appetite and prevents bloating whereas when taken with honey, it helps to reduce cold and cough. As spices are potent, they should be used only in small quantities. Spices have local and systemic action. In this webinar, we will discuss some of the simple recipes which can be easily prepared from materials available in our kitchen. These recipes are very effective in simple health problems like cold, cough, cuts, headache, etc. For chronic illness, these home remedies can be used along with Ayurveda medications.
