Ayurveda has a holistic approach to motherhood. Ayurveda explains that the diet, behavior, habits, and emotional status of the mother affect the foetal health as well. Hence special care is important for a healthy pregnancy and helps to improve the health of both, the mother and baby. Specific dietary needs during different stages of pregnancy are explained to meet the growing demands of the foetus and provide nourishment to the mother. Specific procedures during the latter stages of pregnancy explained in Ayurveda texts help to lubricate the vaginal passage facilitating easy and normal delivery and prevent puerperal sepsis. Ayurveda has also explained the diseases during pregnancy and its treatment. In this webinar, we will discuss about the general rules from the inception of pregnancy to delivery and the special diet plan and regimen during the prenatal and postnatal period for the nourishment of the mother and foetus.
