Herbs for Obesity

People have become overweight and obese for so many reasons these days. Even after knowing these reasons, about getting overweight, people still do not care much about their health. They are busy in their hectic schedules. They have no time for exercise due to which they are attacked by the most common problem i.e. obesity. The main reasons for obesity are disturbed diet habits, lack of physical exercise, laziness and genetic factors.

However, overweight people are at the peak risk of many health related problems like heart problems, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, bone problems etc. It even leads to diabetes in the later stages of the life. Much more than that i.e. stress, low confidence, low self-esteem, sadness are also major issues faced by people nowadays?

Our body is the most important thing in our life. If it is not well then our life also gets affected adversely. People should be aware about the importance of healthy body because once they get trapped in this obesity problem then this might require lots of physical exercise and a prescribed medication to get out of it. Apart from all this, our nature has gifted us with Ayurveda that provides many herbs to get rid of overweight and obesity by easily available plant products. Now we will discuss about the effective herbs that fight against the increasing weight problems:-

Weight Loss Herbal Remedies :-

1. Terminalia arjuna (arjuna): Arjuna, a well-known tree to overcome the risk of high cholesterol. It removes the toxins from the blood hence, purifies the blood and increases the blood circulation in the body. Being a strong antioxidant, it aids to lose weight successfully.

2. Clerodendrum phomidis (Agnimantha): The alkaloids and flavonoids improves the digestion of the body, it also acts as a good antioxidant agent. These properties of agnimantha encourage the frequency of urination. Hence, helps to decrease the body fat.

3. Andrografis paniculata (kalmegh): It has the property of blood purification so helps in proper blood circulation. It also improves the digestive system and even clears the toxic waste from the body.

4. Camellia sinensis (Green tea): It acts as a strong antioxidant. Along with this it enhances the oxidation of fat so it burns the body fat very fast. It is also effective in lowering the cholesterol level from the body.

5. Commiphora mukul (Guggul Herb Extract): Guggul is the primitive herbal medicine used in Ayurveda for various purposes. It contains guggulsterone, a plant steroid which is supposed to be anti-tumor, anti-angiogenic and cholesterol-lowering component. It is very effective for the weight loss without any side effects.

6. Picrorhiza kurro (katuki): Katuki (aka Katuka) is the first thing comes to mind if anyone wants to loose fat fast because this herb has its unique properties which not only helps to get rid of fat but also detoxifies the liver and blood, but simultaneously strengthens this vital organ while enhancing cellular growth and tissue regeneration. It helps in many ailments also. Helps in:-

• Strengthens the liver

• Useful in liver, spleen and gallbladder issues

• Reduces allergies and asthma

• Relieves inflammation

• Pacifies Pitta and Kapha conditions

• Benefits arthritic conditions

• Enhances the digestive fire (Agni)

7. Myroblans (Triphala): Triphala seems to be very forceful in obesity problems. Triphala, an Ayurvedic herbal formula, helps to cleanse the mucus off the digestive villi, making for a more effective digestive process. It even helps in decreasing the body fat also. This formula is made up of three fruits – Amalaki, Bibhitaki and Haritaki that support the eliminative process. And thereby, eliminate the extra fat from the body.

8. Hibiscus Tea : Beautiful and aromatic hibiscus is loaded with all the necessary nutrients, minerals and flavonoids which are mandatory for the weight loss. It has mild diuretic property. It also breaks carbohydrates and fats into their simpler forms. And found very effective till now in enhancing immune system of the body and hence cures many diseases.

Sometimes we get very much indulge in our schedules that we do not notice about this overweight problem. We don’t even look after ourselves. But if we don’t have time to go out for physical activities then we can go for a wonderful boon of Ayurveda.
